Barer on track to defend Aussie Millions title

Canadian Jewish poker player Ami Barer is on track to defend his 2014 title after two days of poker at Crown Casino in Melbourne.

648 players started the tournament, which has a first prize of $1.6 million, but as they head into play today (Thursday) only 136 players remain.

The average chip-stack is a little over 95,000 chips but Barar has 318,000 chips.

He is joined by fellow Jewish players Grant Levy, Michael Guttman and Julius Colman, who was this week given a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), at the top of the leaderboard.

Keep up to date with how the Jewish players are travelling in the $6.4 million event at the AJN’s Facebook page.
