THE Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) and B’nai B’rith are partnering for a series of interviews and panel discussions, the first of which will be held next Wednesday, May 6.

Hosted by ECAJ’s public affairs director Alex Ryvchin, the series will provide in depth analysis and expert speakers to explore the issues of greatest concern to the Jewish community, including Israel and the Middle East, Jewish culture and identity, and matters of Australian public policy that particularly affect our community.

The first instalment in this series will feature Associate Professor John Langdale, from Macquarie University’s Department of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, in conversation with Ryvchin discussing the issues of terrorism financing and how energy security in the Middle East threatens to send the region into further chaos.

“This series will provide fascinating insight into issues at the core of Jewish life,” Ryvchin said.

“We will take a close look at different segments of our community, ponder questions of Jewish identity, and discuss the issues central to the future of Israel.

“The ECAJ is pleased to be joining with B’nai B’rith to bring this series to the community.”

The event will take place at the B’nai B’rith Centre on May 6 from 7.30pm. Entry is $10. For more information and to book, call 9321 6300 or email council@bbnsw.org.au.
