Hamas plans to kill Lieberman foiled
A plan by Hamas to kill Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has been foiled by Israeli intelligence.
The police, Israeli Defence Forces and Shin Bet said on Friday morning (Australian time) that three Palestinians bought a rocket propelled grenade launcher and intended to kill Lieberman while he was in his car.
The leader of the Hamas terror cell has been identified as 37-year-old Ibrahim Salim Mahmoud al-Zir.
Al-Zir, who has previously been in prison due to crimes he committed with Hamas, recruited his brother and another Hamas member to attack Lieberman.
