Prize-winning photos
THE winners of the Head On Photo Festival, sharing $50,000 worth of prizes, were announced on May 1 at the festival’s official opening held at Sydney’s Lower Town Hall.
The portrait prize was won by Molly Harris with her emotive image of a transgender air force pilot shaving as she gets ready for the Anzac Day parade.
The winner in the landscape division was Alfonso Perez with his depiction of Jakarta’s largest cemetery set against the Indonesian capital’s skyline.
First prize in the mobile category was won by Laki Sideris for a photo taken at his mother‘s funeral. Paul Philpott won the student prize and Dan Gray won the moving image prize.
There were more than 4000 entrants across the five categories.
