Terror victim laid to rest

The woman who died of her wounds sustained during last week’s terrorist attack in Jerusalem was laid to rest before dawn on Monday.

Hundreds bid farewell to Karen Yemima Mosquera, the Ecuadorian native who was hit by the car driven by an east Jerusalem resident. An infant girl was also killed in the attack.

Mosquera, who came to Israel to complete her conversion to Judaism, was laid to rest on the Mt. of Olives.

Among those in attendance at the funeral was Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and the Ecuadorian ambassador to Israel.

The Foreign Ministry said that Mosquera’s parents and sister were flown out at the expense of the State of Israel, in keeping with protocol when a foreign citizen is seriously wounded in a terror attack.
