NSW Police have released images of a man they’d like to speak to in relation to malicious damage incidents at Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction on Sunday, February 10.
That was the date that about 20 swastikas were spray-painted on artworks along the Bondi promenade and more were daubed in Bondi Junction, seemingly by the same perpetrator.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president Lesli Berger said at the time, “To say that the Jewish community is appalled at this expression of wanton racism is a severe understatement.
“The swastika represents the ultimate in race hatred and all Australians of goodwill will stand together in condemning this shocking display.”
Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command posted the images of the man wanted in relation to malicious damage on their Facebook page, saying, “It is believed the male in the attached photographs can assist with this investigation.
“If you have any information in relation to these offences or can assist with the identification of this male, please contact Waverley Police Station on 9369 9899 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
