JEWISH MasterChef finalist Jonathan Daddia was cooked off the hit show this week after failing to please the judges in his ninth elimination challenge.

Daddia’s attempt at a tricky squab dish was less than impressive, with the meat undercooked and the broth too “medicinal” resulting in his booting off the show just a week from the final.

The Moriah College graduate, who cites French as his favourite cuisine hopes to ultimately open a traditional French bistro in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

Among the highlights of Daddia’s MasterChef journey was a trip to London where he met and cooked for his food hero Heston Blumenthal and, together with fellow contestant Callum Hann, enjoyed a private cooking class with Jamie Oliver.

The show’s finale will screen on July 25.
