THE Morrison government has committed more than $200,000 in funding to the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBOD), it was announced on Wednesday.
THE Morrison government has committed more than $200,000 in funding to the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBOD), it was announced on Wednesday.
The funding will go to JBOD’s We Are All Sydney community leadership program, which brings together emerging leaders from Sydney’s diverse ethnic, faith and NGO communities and organisations; and its Respect, Understanding, Acceptance harmony program for schools.
The funding was announced by Federal Minister for Social Services Paul Fletcher and Liberal candidate for Wentworth Dave Sharma.
“This is an important announcement for an organisation that does so much great work in the community,” Sharma told The AJN.
“The Jewish Board of Deputies will always have my support.”
JBOD president Lesli Berger said, “The funds will enable us to take both of these programs to new heights.
“Given the ever-increasing importance of engaging with other communities and faith groups, we commend and thank the federal government and Dave Sharma for recognising this vital need and making these funds available for these programs.”
The AJN understands the funding is committed and allocated in the federal budget.
