Israeli Arab killed fighting for Islamic State

AN Israeli Arab has reportedly been killed in Iraq while fighting for the Islamic State (IS).

Ahmed Habashi, from the village of Iksal in the Galilee, left Israel in January to fight for IS.

The head of Iksal’s local council, Abed al-Salam Darawshe, said that 24-year-old Habashi was an isolated case and does not represent the thoughts or views of the youth in his village.

Israel’s police reported that three more Israeli Arabs joined IS on the weekend.

The three men, all aged in their 20s, flew to Turkey and then crossed into Syria to fight.
