The apartments, which are officially on sale, will be known as M by Montefiore.
Montefiore president David Freeman said the project has been designed to meet the community’s changing needs, with people living independently for longer.
“There’s a trend in retirement living towards luxury, maintenance-free apartments in a central location,” Freeman said.
“The design, finishes and facilities at M by Montefiore are comparable with the finest offerings in the eastern suburbs. We’re expecting interest from individuals and couples in their mid-70s and upwards, seeking a private residence with the added security of care should they need it in future.”
The development will include 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments.
The secure, private complex combines 5-star inclusions such as a pool, fitness centre, private cinema, concierge and club lounge, with the peace of mind that comes from having Montefiore’s leading health support just a phone call away.
Construction of the two M by Montefiore apartment buildings is expected to commence mid-2018 on the King Street side of Montefiore’s existing Randwick property.
As part of the master plan for the site, apartment sale proceeds will help to fund the subsequent development of a specialist dementia care building on the Dangar Street side.
“It’s been a long road bringing this project to the market,” Freeman said.
