Honouring our fallen Diggers

JEWISH history was made in our nation’s capital last Sunday when Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove officially unveiled the first ever Australian Jewish War Memorial (AJWM), which commemorates all 341 Jewish Diggers who are known to have died on active service for their country from 1900 to today.

‘No greater gift for Gregory’

A rehabilitation centre for Australian soldiers, providing transition, education, employment and community programs for Australian war veterans and their families has been named after Private Gregory Sher, who was killed on duty in Afghanistan in 2009.
