TWO Jews made it into the top 10 of BRW’s Young Rich List when it was published last week.

Ruslan Kogan, who used his entrepreneurial skills to start his online consumer electronics business, Kogan Technologies, without the assistance of investors, ranked fourth on the list.

Kogan built his first computer at the age of nine and then a year later started finding golf balls at the Elsternwick Golf Course and then cleaning them and selling them to golfers.

His list of achievements since launching Kogan Technologies in 2006 include appearances on the The Age’s top 100 most influential people list, being named a Virgin Australia Top Gun in Tech, and being listed by The Australian alongside Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on the top 50 most influential people in tech list.

His personal worth is estimated to be valued at $315 million, according to BRW.

At number six on the list, with an estimated worth of $190 million, is Hezi Leibovich, who is the co-founder of Catch of the Day and its associated companies.

Catch Of The Day started in 2006 with five employees in a small warehouse. Since then, the company has expanded to 600 full time staff working from two large centres in Victoria.

Catchoftheday.com.au is one of Australia’s top shopping sites and the company went on to launch Grocery Run, Scoopon, Mumgo and Eat Now.
