ISRAEL’S Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pictured with Australian Prime Minster Malcolm Turnbull, has cancelled the Melbourne leg of his trip to Australia.

While it has not been officially confirmed by Israel’s embassy in Australia, The AJN understands that Netanyahu has shortened his visit because he is going to the United States to see President Donald Trump.

The visit, which was due to last four days and include a trip to Melbourne, has now been shortened to only two days.

Zionism Victoria’s president Sharene Hambur said it was disappointing, but understandable.

“We’re obviously very disappointed that he is unable to fit Melbourne into his itinerary,” Hambur said.

“We understand the limitations placed on him by his reduced time in Australia.”
