New president at Mount Scopus

Mount Scopus Memorial College has welcomed new president Amy Hershan to lead the school and continue the great work from former president Lisa Kennett.

Over the years Hershan has demonstrated her leadership skills on the Parents’ Association, the College Council and more recently as a member of the College Executive.

Graduating in 1994, Hershan’s parents both went to Mount Scopus and she is proud parent of three children who are third generation students of the school.

Hershan told The AJN that she is excited about her appointment as president and looks forward to seeing the school continue to flourish under her leadership.

“I am looking forward to the school to continue to go from strength and strength.

I am looking to continue to raise the bar of our education standards, while also being conscious that we want as many Jewish families as possible to be able to afford a Mount Scopus education,” Hershan said.

Retiring president Kennett said that Hershan “will lead the College with strength and wisdom and with a keen understanding of the ethos of the College and all that it stands for.”

In thanking immediate past president Kennett, principal Rabbi James Kennard said, “Lisa has led the College through a very successful period with vision and passion.

The significant developments in our facilities and the growth of enrollments during this time are amongst the testaments to her leadership.”
