A WALL in Windsor, Victoria, has been defaced with a swastika, drawing the ire of members of the community.
“This act of vandalism which violates our community’s values of acceptance and respect for all people is absolutely deplorable,” said B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission chair Dr Dvir Abramovich.
“Whenever such cowardly and despicable incidents happen, there is a chilling emotional impact on community members. This is a sad and distressing reminder of the lengths people will go to express their prejudice and that Melbourne is not immune to this kind of threatening racism.”
Victoria Police said the incident had not been reported.
City of Stonnington acting CEO Karen Watson told The AJN that the incident had been logged with their graffiti removal team and would be removed as soon as possible.
